4. Equipment Records
Equipment is the central entity in the ServiceBack platform. All maintenance and operating information is organized around a specific asset, creating its complete digital history.
An equipment record is a unified information space that stores all data about the asset throughout its lifecycle. The following can be linked to the equipment:
- maintenance and repair requests;
- planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules;
- operating, technical, and engineering documentation;
- photographs and other attachments;
- spare parts and consumables;
- IoT sensors and operating-hour readings;
- repair, downtime, and completed-work history;
- maintenance team labor hours;
- comments and event log entries.
Together, this data forms a digital representation of the equipment: its current condition, maintenance history, documents, parts consumed, and accumulated statistics are available in one record.
Unlike systems in which the service request is the central object, ServiceBack structures every maintenance process around the equipment. This provides complete traceability of the operating history, simplifies root-cause analysis, and supports decisions based on the accumulated data for each asset.
